Kathy picked a great inspirational picture for the DaringCardmakers. And this is our first challenge for July.

 

Pick three elements and use it on your card.

I picked a stencilled background, plants, squares, a feather, pearls and thread.

Sucht euch mindestens drei Elemente aus, die du auf deinen Karten verwendest.

Ich habe mich für eine Schablone, Pflanzen, quadratische Papierstücke, eine Feder, Perlen und Garn verwendet.

DC Into the garden

 Hello, crafters! Nat from the Daring Cardmakers has a new challenge for you:

Over the past year in particular, gardens have become important spaces for many of us.

Whether just being a place to enjoy some fresh air, read a book in the sunshine, dine outside, or indeed witness the seasons change.

For this week's dare:

We're celebrating the bounty of your garden or favourite outside space.

I love spending time outdoors and in a garden. My parents have the most beautiful garden I know and I especially love all the plants and flowers in it. It’s great place to relax and hang out.

I recreated a card that I made ages ago. It has a fascinating opening mechanism and gives you plenty of space for multiple stamps, greetings or die cuts. (And it helps me to use up my beautiful paper … so that I can buy some more one day 😉).

Diese Woche möchte Nat von den Daring Cardmakers Gärten mit uns feiern und würdigen.

Bastle ein Kärtchen, das mit dem Thema GARTEN zu hat. Egal, ob Blümchen, Zaun, Spaten, Hängematte, Insekten etc.

Zeig uns deine Ideen … und schau dir vorher gerne zur Inspiration die Werke des Designteams an.

Ich habe eine Klappkarte gemacht und freue mich darüber, wie viel Stanzteile, Stempelgrüße und Papier ich darin unterbringen kann. Wenn mein Papiervorrat noch etwas abnimmt, könnte ich ja mal wieder neues nachkaufen 😉…

 Hello, crafters! I’m just checking in to present to you the new Daring Cardmaker’s challenge:

Just Checking!
All we're asking this week is that you use some kind of check pattern on your cards.  

It could be stamped, embossed, patterned paper, stencilled, hand-drawn...

You could use checks as a background or as part of a design element of an image e.g. on a Chef's apron or tartan rug...

I used the cute Christmas tartan pattern paper and added some more tartan details.

The little deer is so cute!

Diese Woche geht es um Karomuster! Zeig uns Karos auf deiner Karte. Egal ob gestempelt, selbst gemalt, mit einer Schablone oder gedruckt oder oder…

Was fällt dir dazu ein?

Ich habe den goldigen kleinen Elch mit dem Karo-Weihnachtspapier kombiniert. Nicht meine übliche Kombi, aber schon ganz goldig, oder?!

The Daring Cardmakers have a new challenge for you.

Kathy picked the topic: flag pole!

Take your inspiration from the flag of a country other than your own – there are plenty to choose from! You can use an element from the flag, the design, the colours … Don’t forget to tell us which country’s flag you’ve used.

I was inspired by the flag of Sudan (and other countries) and copied the layout quite loosely. You can see three stripes and the triangle on the left, if you turn the card around.

Then I added some die cut flowers.

What’s your idea? Which flag will you use?

Die Daring Cardmakers haben eine neue Herausforderung für euch.

Kathy möchte, dass ihr euch von Flaggen inspirieren lasst. Wählt eine Flagge eines anderen Landes und lasst euch vom Layout, dem Motiv oder den Farben inspirieren.

Meine Karte ist der Flagge des Sudan (und anderer Länder) nachempfunden. Drei horizontale Streifen und ein Dreieck links… zumindest wenn man die Karte dreht.

Dann habe ich noch ausgestanzte Blümchen ergänzt.

Was ist deine Idee? Such dir eine Flagge aus und mach dich ans Werk!

 

DC Tropical Paradise

 Hello, crafters!

This Friday the DaringCardmakers bring you some tropical vibes!

Rizwana wants to see a TROPICAL PARADISE on your card.

Create a card with your favourite tropical animal or bird. You can use some vibrant colours or tropical plants.

I had to use my jungle animals and some vellum again. Because I liked the card, I copied it in a different colour … and one is already on it’s way to a friend.

I challenge myself to use what I have instead of buying every new thing that I see somewhere else or that I want to have. So I took out my Polychromos and had some fun with them. (Well, okay, I bought them maybe 2 years ago because I saw such cute colouring with them…)

Hallo, liebe Bastlerinnen! Trotz des durchwachsenen Wetters, oder vielleicht auch gerade deswegen, bringen die Daring Cardmakers euch in Dschungelstimmung.

Bastle eine Karte mit deinen liebsten tropischen Tieren oder tropischen Pflanzen und nutze knallige Dschungelfarben.

Das Thema kam mir gerade recht, da ich meine neuen Dschungeltierchen immer noch so toll finde. Mir hat auch meine Schüttelkarte gut gefallen, so dass ich sie einfach noch einmal nachgebastelt habe. Dieses Mal in einer anderen Farbe.

Da ich meine Polychromos viel zu lange nicht mehr benutzt habe, habe ich sie mal wieder aus der Kiste geholt und hatte viel Spaß beim Kolorieren.

Was fällt dir zum Thema Dschungel ein? Schau mal in deiner Bastelkiste nach, ob du etwas Passendes finden kannst. Wir sind gespannt auf deine Karte!

DC Proud as a peacock

Joanne picked the topic for the Daring Cardmakers‘challenge.

Proud as a peacock!

Take inspiration from the beauty of the peacock for your card this week. It might be an image oft he bird itself, a beautiful „eye“ feather or simply the gorgeous iridescent colours of a peacock’s plumage applied to other images – think rich blues, greens, purples and even a little bronze. Extra brownie points if you can work in a „proud of you“ or „you did it!“ theme!

As I don’t own anything peacock related (and I even gave away my feather dies…), I took out my colours and painted a peacock feather on water colour paper. I added some shimmery metallic water colours.

I thougt that I don’t own a „proud of you“/“you did it“ stamp (in the meantime I found one), so I used my „You’re super“ sentiment.

Show us your creation and have a look at the ideas of the design team.

Diese Woche hat Joanne die Herausforderung für die DaringCardmakers ausgewählt.

Sie möchte Pfauenfedern, Pfauen oder Pfauenfarben auf deiner Karte sehen.

Ich habe leider weder einen Pfauenstempel, noch Federmotive etc. Also habe ich meine Wasserfarben herausgeholt und eine Pfauenfeder gemalt. Am Ende habe ich mit den metallischen Wasserfarben noch ein paar Spritzer auf das Papier verteilt. Et voilá!

Der Gruß „Du bist super“ passt gut zum Stolz, der mit den Pfauen assoziiert wird. Mir gefällt’s! 😉

Dieses Mal war ich an der Reihe eine Herausforderung für die Daring Cardmakers auszusuchen. Ich habe mich für dieses Bild (siehe oben) entschieden.
