DC Royal Wedding Anniversary

Ooops … it’s turn to pick a topic for Daring Cardmakers this week. And I’m a bit late with my own post.

(the final exams of our pupils are keeping us quite busy at the moment)

This week we’ll celebrate love.

Prince William married his Kate 5 years ago on April 29^th 2011. That’s reason enough to make wedding/anniversary

cards for all the lovely couples we know personally.

Or your partner ;-).

Has the wedding season already started in your part of the world? Are you invited to a wedding or anniversary this year?

Over here the wedding season usually starts in May and I’m invited to a wedding in summer and one in autumn. I think the one in summer will be quite traditional with the classic cream/white and red colour combination. I hope they will like the card.

Diese Woche geht es bei den Daring Cardmakers um Hochzeits- oder Jahrestagkarten. Kramt eure romantischen Stempel, Sprüche etc. aus und feiert die Liebe ;-).

Und wenn ihr zu Hochzeiten eingeladen seid, ist das die perfekte Gelegenheit, um schon einmal in Ruhe das passende Kärtchen zu werkeln.

Here comes the Daring Cardmaker's challenge …

Leo picked an awesome topic:

This week I'd like you to take inspiration from your favourite cafe or coffee hang out. It could be something that's served, muffins, pastries, doughnuts, cookies, tea, coffee etc. Or it could be the colours or a motif or the packaging. Got your idea yet? Here's the design teams cards to give you more ideas. Don't forget to pop back in and share what you've made. Have fun!

I love coffee and I usually have one in the morning at school and one in the afternoon at my desk. And often I have my best ideas during my coffee breaks.

On my card you see a photograph which was taken in my favourite café. The owners roast their own coffee and most of the hand-made baked muffins, cupcakes, cakes etc. are even suitable for a vegan or gluten-free diet. (thankfully my stomach can handle everything)

Hier ist die brandneue Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers.

Leo fordert euch heraus euch von eurem Lieblingscafé inspirieren zu lassen: was gibt es dort leckeres zu essen? Welche Farben hat das Geschirr/die Einrichtung? Habt ihr zufällig eine Serviette oder Kärtchen aus dem Kaffee, was ihr auf eurer Karte verwurschteln könnt?

Auf meiner Karte ist ein Photo zu sehen, dass in meinem absoluten Lieblingscafé aufgenommen wurde.

Werdet kreativ und zeigt uns eure Kreationen …

For the new challenge of the Daring Cardmakers Sharon wants us to go back to basics.

Back to Basics

I want you to use primary colours only - if you want to add other colours, then you need to mix them yourselves from the primary's!

I won’t tell you which of the following cards was the first one created (… well, a hint: when the craft buzz ended and my brain worked properly again I realized green is not a primary colour ;-))

Anyway, I think primary colours are perfect for children/teenager cards so I created some for the youngest and tiniest of children. 

Sharon fordert euch diese Woche im Namen der Daring Cardmakers heraus. Sie möchte nur Primärfarben auf euren Karten sehen … oder Zwischentöne, die ihr selbst auf den Primärfarben gemischt habt.

Ich finde rot, blau und gelb perfekt für Kinder- und Teenagerkarten. Und jetzt habe ich einen Schwung Karten für die kleinsten und goldigsten Kinder gebastelt: Babys!!!

DC Buddah's birthday

Lythan’s idea for the current Daring Cardmakers challenge was a real challenge for me ;-).

Its a different kind of challenge this time round as today is the birthday of Siddhārtha Gautama, also known as the Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. 

So we would like to see an oriental theme to your card - sakura blossom, lanterns, temples, Nepalese prayer flags...

I went to my local craft shop and asked for something oriental and the lady showed me some beautiful papers. I bought one sheet and a coordinating cardstock and here’s the result.

Zu Ehren von Buddahs Geburtstag wollen wir orientalische

Karten sehen.

Ich musste zu meinem Bastelladen vor Ort gehen und fragen, ob sie etwas Passendes zum Thema haben… hatten sie (natürlich ;-)). Und das orientalische Papier hat so eine tolle Struktur.
