This week I've had a little house guest of the furry variety - Lola the dog came to stay at what is becoming her holiday villa. ;o) So it got me to thinking about the pets in our lives and how it'd be nice to make a card featuring our furry best friends or those of the person you're making your card for.

It seems that cats are the most favourite pets among my fellow design team members …

I prefer rodents.

Haustiere

Bastelt eine Karte, auf der ein Haustier zu sehen ist. Vielleicht sogar euer eigenes Haustier oder das der Person, die eure Karte erhalten wird?!

Meine Teamkolleginnen sind augenscheinlich große Katzenfans. Ich bevorzuge Nagetiere (am besten draußen im Garten).

I've recently been looking through all the new product catalogues and sneak peeks and seen lots of watercolour and other paint effect looks out there so I'd like you to take inspiration from that but rather than use ready made products I want to see you having a go at using an actual paint effect or painting technique on your card if you can. Use any kind of paint or ink you want or even brush markers, just to get the look of paint.

And here’s my card. I always wanted to melt crayons and make a little mess …

DC: Ombré

Sharon picked this week’s challenge for the Daring Cardmakers.

Ombre

 I'd like to see the Ombre effect used on your card somewhere (an effect where the colour gradient goes from light to dark, like on a paint colour chart). This can be blended colour, or in blocks.  It seems this effect is really popular at the moment - not just in the craft world but in hair colouring too.

Ombre

Das bedeutet, dass man eine Farbe wählt, die in verschiedenen Tonabstufungen verwendet wird (ich hoffe, ich habe das jetzt mit den richtigen Fachbegriffen erklärt?).
