DC: Hot chocolate

Kathy picked this week’s dare for the Daring Cardmakers.

Hot Chocolate
I'd like your cardmaking to be inspired by yummy, scrummy chocolate.

Anything Chocolatey goes - colour, favourite centres, hot chocolate drinks, chocolate cake, chocolate bars, boxes of chocolates etc.

I'm really sorry if this makes you feel a bit hungry ;)  but I hope you'll still have some fun creating even if you can't really eat what you make!

As chocolate is the ideal comfort food for me, I thought of creating a chocolate shaped card with a “something to cheer you up” sentiment. Here’s the finished card.

The chocolate doesn’t look as real ans awesome as Leo's, but I like it anyway.

Kathy hat HEIßE SCHOKOLADE als Thema der aktuellen Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers gewählt. Jede Karte, die irgendetwas „Schokoladiges“ zeigt oder von einer Schokoladenpackung etc. inspiriert wurde, darf mitmachen.

Da Schokolade für mich ein perfektes Trostessen ist, dachte ich gleich daran eine schokoladenförmige Karte zu basteln und einen aufmunternden Spruch als Beschriftung zu wählen. Diese Karte ist dabei herausgekommen.

Die Schokolade sieht nicht ganz so real und umwerfend aus wie bei Leos Karte, aber ich mag sie trotzdem!

2013 Bastelwochende I/craftweekend I

Last weekend was the best weekend of 2013 so far =). I met with three of my very good and oldest friends and we had a card-making weekend where we produced tons of cards … and had tons of fun with silly stories, songs from our teenage years and delicious food.

My friends picked me up with a minivan (borrowed from my friend’s dad) so that as many boxes full of crafting material as possible would fit in. After an adventurous ride on a snowy motorway we arrived at our friend’s house.

While everyone else in Frankfurt turned the hill in front of my friend’s house into a ski piste, we sat in her lovely hobby room most of the time … creating, chatting and laughing.

We enjoyed the weekend very much and already planned the next one in October (-> Christmas cards!).

Das letzte Wochende war bereits eines der besten im Jahr 2013 (bisher jedenfalls). Ich habe mich mit drei meiner besten und ältesten Freundinnen zum Basteln getroffen. Am Freitagabend wurde ich mit dem Minivan abgeholt, den wir vom Papa meiner Freundin ausleihen durften. So konnten wir neben unseren Reisetaschen und Schlafsäcken noch jede Menge Bastelsachen einladen. Nach einer abenteuerlichen Fahrt über eine verschneite Autobahn kamen wir dann doch etwas später als geplant im Taunus an.

Während der Rest der Region den Hügel vor dem Haus meiner Freundin in eine Skipiste verwandelt hat, saßen wir in ihrem gemütlichen Hobbyraum und haben vor uns hingewerkelt. Wir hatten super viel Spaß mit den interessantesten Liedern aus unserer Teenagerzeit (Biep Biep, kleiner Satellit … Mutter der Mann mit dem Koks ist da, ja, mein Junge …- kennt das noch jemand?!), hatten uns jede Menge zu erzählen und wurden auch kulinarisch bestens versorgt. Wir haben beschlossen, das Wochenende auf jeden Fall im Oktober zu wiederholen. Da beginnen wir dann frühzeitig mit der Weihnachtskartenproduktion!

DC Butterflies

Yesterday morning I was shocked when I looked out of my bedroom window: everything was white and thick snowflakes were in the air. I’m so tired of this cold and the endless grey skies …

Maybe that’s why I went a bit crazy when Zuzana from the Daring Cardmakers asked us to use butterflies on our cards. 

The butterfly is reminder to make changes and in symbolism it stands for freedom, fun and joyous times.

So I would like to see cards with beautiful  

butterflies on them. 

It's completely up to you what technique, material and style you decide to use.

Ich habe mich echt erschreckt, als ich gestern beim Blick aus dem Fenster den ganzen Schnee gesehen habe!!! Und es hat bis mittags ununterbrochen dicke Flocken geschneit. Dabei  habe ich wirklich die Nase voll von dieser Kälte und dem ewig grauen Himmel. Ich will Frühling!

Vielleicht bin ich deswegen auch etwas über die Stränge geschlagen, als Zuzana von den Daring Cardmakers uns gebeten hat Schmetterlinge auf unseren Karten zu verwenden.
