DC Around the house

Hello crafty people!

Have a happy Friday and an awesome week ahead!

Joanne from the Daring Cardmakers gives you another challenge to get crafty:

Around the house!

You can either use a household object as part of your creation (e.g. foil from the kitchen, dry wall tape from the tool box, scrape a design into paint with the prongs of a fork) or use an image of a household object as your focal point (e.g. a TV, a food mixer, a games console). You could do both for extra virtual brownie points if the mood takes you!

I recently found this paper pad with die cut images and small patterened paper rectangles in my stash. The die cut images are cute … but they don’t really fit on my cards and with my personal cardmaking style. So I decided to use the cutest of them and turn them into mini paper projects that fit on an envelope.

So now I have cute decorated envelopes and used up another paper pad (yay!).

The envelopes don’t match the cards that I will send in them. But that doesn’t bother me … and they will probably end up in a recycling bin anyway (which is fine! I had fun making them and it made the post man and the recipient happy! Win – win – win situation! Goals achieved!).

For this challenge I even combined Joanne‘s challenges: I decorated envelopes (=household items) with die cut images of household items (drinking glasses, a telephone etc.) 😊.

What’s your idea? Make a card or other crafty project and share it with us!

DC Viva Magenta

Hello crafters,

Here comes the new Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge and a pop of colour.

Rizwana challenges you to use the new Pantone colour of the year on your card:

Viva magenta!

I searched for the papers that were closest to the colour and made little „tea-cards“ with them.

In there is a pocket for a tea bag. A perfect little thankyou card + gift, don’t you think?!

DC new year - new crafty things

 Hello crafters!

As this is my first blog post in 2023 I wish you an awesome new year filled with adventures, joy and enough time to craft 😊.

Today it’s my turn to set a new challenge for the DaringCardmakers to give you a chance to have a crafty start into the new year.

New Year – New crafty things

Use a piece of your craft supplies (stamp, tool, stencil…) that you have never used before!

Give it a new chance or a beautiful beginning in the new year.

Maybe you even got some supplies for Christmas? Or, like in my case, the weeks before Christmas were just too busy to try out your new things.

I bought these cute stamp sets (T€di) some time in autumn and I just never got the chance to use them.

In my Christmas holidays I decided to start with the „happy birthday“ set and leave the rest for another craft session.

I’m really obsessed with top popping flap cards and I always follow Dora’s tutorial (in German with metric measurements). It’s ideal to use a lot of images from the same stamp set as you have so many different layers and elements to decorate.

oh ... there's even more space to decorate on the inside ;-)

And then I challenged myself to use up all of the papers that I got from my SU demonstrator (thanks!)

Do you have any crafty goals this year?

I would love to ...

-       ... craft more regularly (this means blocking time at the weekends)

-      ... try out new techniques

-      ... use all the supplies that are still in their original packaging 😉

-      ....  buy less

-       ... use up as much paper as possible

-        ... think of new and creative ways to use the stamps and dies that I already own

                                                                 Happy crafting!
