MAKING MEMORIES

I have been so sentimental lately and remembering lots of happy times. So I would like you to create a card with a meaning or memory behind it and explain the meaning of your creation. Perhaps who it's for, why you made it and the memories it made.

I will start you off with a trip down my memory lane.

Here’s my card.

It reminds me of a childhood memory: colouring pictures that my grandpa drew (he always drew running horses) and all kinds of colouring books. My aunts gave me quite expensive pencils for my birthday once (when I was 12 or so) in a great quality which I still love, use and cherish today.

Another memory that’s connected with my card is a magical summer night I spend with my lovely friends and a light blue unicorn this August … no more details here ;-).

Wir laden euch ein in Erinnerungen zu schwelgen und euch davon zu einer Karte inspirieren zu lassen.

Mit meiner Karte sind zwei wunderbare Erinnerungen verbunden. Zum einen liebe Anmalen seitdem ich als kleines Mädchen die Zeichnungen meines Opa und jede Menge Malbücher koloriert habe … und dann habe ich im August eine wunderbare Sommernacht mit guten Freunden und einem hellblauen Einhorn verbracht ;-).

Hello, lovely crafters. Good news: It’s FRIDAY!!! And here is the Daring Cardmakers challenge (for your next crating time?).

I love surfing the web, getting to know talented crafters and bookmarking amazing cards.

Today I want you to say THANK YOU FOR THE INSPIRATION.

There are some lucky girls out there who are able to craft and blog for a living (and their blogs have thousands of followers and their video tutorials are watched by hundreds each hour ;-). But I am sure that you came across a crafty lady (or gentleman) whose blog has only a few followers, but has inspired you a lot. So here is the opportunity to get to know some brilliant, yet not so well-known, crafters and get new inspiration.

Create a card that’s inspired by the stlye, blog or a certain card of another crafter, who is not super famous yet (=less than 300 followers).

Don’t forget to put the link to the blog or the card that inspired you on your blog post so that we can get to know other crafters too.

And it would be great if you would leave a comment on their blog and say

THANK YOU FOR THE INSPIRATION.

I picked two blogs; an English- and a German-speaking one.

I love Sarah's cards. They are always quite clean and simple, but always with a little twist or amazing details or great colours/patterned paper. Have a look at her blog and you’ll probably also find the cards I was inspired by.

And Jenny's cards are always little works of art .. and even though I don’t know her personally, I’m sure that’s she’s a super cool and warm-hearted Berlin City Girl ;-). I was especially fascinated by her little series “1 male/1 female card” earlier this year. Check out her great ideas.

Hier kommt die neue Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers.

 

Ich liebe es im Internet herum zu surfen. Dabei habe ich schon jede Menge „unbekannte“ super talentierte Mädels getroffen, die zauberhafte Karten werkeln und mich sehr inspirieren: neue Techniken, mutiger Farbeinsatz etc. Zwei davon möchte ich heute vorstellen und 

DANKE für die INSPIRATION sagen.

Sarahs Karten sind eher schlicht und einfach gehalten, verblüffen aber immer mit wunderschönen Farben, Details, Papieren und sehen immer absolut sauber und ordentlich gearbeitet aus. Schaut doch mal bei ihr vorbei.

Jenny ist ein kreatives und talentiertes Hauptstadtmädchen und macht wunderschöne Karten, Verpackungen etc. Besonders ihre Miniserie „1xMann/1xFrau“ am Anfang des Jahres hat es mir angetan. Wie cool kann man Karten ruckzuck in Männer- bzw. Frauenkarten verwandeln. Was ein Spaß!

DC favourite books

It’s Friday and the Daring Cardmakers hope you’ll find some time at the weekend to craft … and maybe take part in our current challenge.

From music to the world of literature we go this week, as Leo's challenging you to create a card inspired by favourite books.

The design team was inspired by many genres, can you spot which books they have a particular fondness for?

I chose the book “Tschick”, where two boys from different social backgrounds go on a road trip in a stolen car.

(I tried to copy the cover of the book a little bit as well as the content.)

Es ist Freitag und die Daring Cardmakers hoffen, dass ihr am Wochenende ein bisschen Zeit zum Basteln und Entspannen findet. Vielleicht schafft ihr es ja bei der aktuellen Herausforderung mitzumachen?!

Leo möchte, dass ihr euch von eurem Lieblingsbuch inspirieren lasst und dazu ein passendes Kärtchen bastelt.

Ich hatte sehr viel Spaß dabei „Tschick“ zu lesen – und hoffe, dass ich es noch einmal lesen kann, bevor der Kinofilm rauskommt.

Oh no… it’s not Friday yet … but this is last week’s Daring Cardmakers challenge. I’m really sorry for the delay.

My dad introduced me to the Louis Armstrong song "What a Wonderful World"and whenever I hear it I think of him.  He passed on to me the love of Satchmo's voice and this song in particular and this week I'd like you to be inspired by the lyrics when you make your card.  You can use the whole beautiful planet, or maybe choose one or more lines from the song to use

I spent the last week in a very beautiful part of the world: Madeira.

School started on Monday and as always the start into a new year is rough and tough and stressful … I’ll try to be better and schedule regular crafting and blogging time.

Es ist nicht Freitag … nicht mehr und noch nicht. Aber hier ist mein Beitrag zur aktuellen Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers.

Kathy möchte, dass ihr euch vom Lied bzw. dem Text des Liedes „What a wonderful world“ inspirieren lasst.

Ich habe die letzte Woche in einen wundervollen Teil dieser Welt verbracht: auf Madeira.

Am Montag hat das neue Schuljahr begonnen und (wie immer) geht es noch drunter und drüber bis man die neuen Klassen kennt und wir endlich genug Lehrer haben, um den Unterricht abzudecken ;-).

Ich gebe aber mein Bestes, um regelmäßig(er) zu basteln und zu bloggen.
