sometimes you just need a card that stands out and has it own flair. Create
anything other than a square type of card.
I was recently reminded of the rocking cards… and I loved
creating this one!

The Daring Cardmakers have a new challenge for you!
Dawn wants to see cards that celebrate the home
comforts.
As I (= Dawn) am an expat living in France there are lots of things I miss. For example Cadbury chocolate, Yorkshire tea and oxo cubes. So I want you to feature a card with something that you would miss if you lived in another country, what reminds you of home. It might not even be food. I still can't get used to seeing yellow post boxes and post vans.
I loved thinking about my „home comforts“. I lived a year
in the US and a year in England … and these are some oft he things I missed. Not
all of them are particular German, I guess.
The rural area I’m from. Abroad I lived in cities … and I
always missed the countryside. Large fields, meadows, forests…
Traditional „coffee and cake“ afternoon meetings with
anyone. No matter how old the person is. (And in my opinion the most delicious
cakes in the world 😉)
Local wine and relaxed evenings in beergardens and outdoor locations.
… and the crazy stuff:
Women without make-up and nail polish.
I dedicated my card to our „Kaffee und Kuchen“ tradition:
But there are also things I still miss from my study abroad
year in England: Yorkshire tea (which I still order online several times a
year) and craft magazines.

Heimatliebe
Am besten findet man das heraus, wenn man längere Zeit im Ausland verbringt. Ich habe ein Jahr in den USA und ein Jahr in England verbracht und habe folgende Dinge am meisten vermisst:
meine ländliche Heimat (der Kraichgau zwischen badischer
Weinstraße und deutscher Fachwerkstraße 😉), „Kaffee
und Kuchen“, gemütlich im Wein- oder Biergarten sitzen … und ungeschminkte
Frauen ohne Nagellack *hihi*.

Here is the Daring Cardmakers new challenge for you:
Rain or shine
Nat wants you tob e inspired by the wacky weather
her parents enjoyed on their May wedding day (snowstorm after a week of blissful
summer sunshine), feature something weather-related on your card: a rainbow,
sunny skies, raindrops and umbrellas, even snow!
We just enjoyed the first week which felt like summer:
sunshine and quite hot temperatures. I love it!
I used my „big“ sunshine stencil on this card … and created
a smaller stencil for the next card myself (which isn’t perfect as you’ll see,
but it works 😊).

Wie jeden Freitag liefern euch die Daring Cardmakers wieder
eine kreative Herausforderung für eure bastelige Woche. Vielleicht kannst du
dir sogar am Wochenende eine kreative Auszeit nehmen?!
Nat hat sich für das Thema „Sonne
und Regen“ entschieden.
Lasst euch vom verrückten Wetter auf der
Mai-Hochzeit ihrer Eltern inspirieren. Die hatten an ihrem Hochzeitstag einen
Schneesturm nach einer Woche voller Sonnenschein. Alles geht 😉: Regen, Sonne,
Regenbögen, Schnee … egal welches Wetter, zeige es uns auf deiner Karte!
Ich habe für die Karten oben eine tolle, gekaufte Schablone
verwendet und habe hier versucht sie für diese Karte hier in einem kleineren
Maßstab nachzubasteln. Sie ist nicht perfekt, aber passt zur Szene, die ich kreieren
wollte.

on this first Friday in May.
Joanne created this fabulous pictures and wants you to pick
three elements for your card:
I picked the colours (green and purple), ribbon, flowers
and a sentiment 😉. Finally I used the die that I bought a
long time ago … and I „copied“ the ideas that I saw in this great cardmaking video (in German).

Juhuuu, der Mai ist da! Und pünktlich zum ersten Freitag
des Monats gibt es eine Photoinspiration der Daring Cardmakers.
Suche dir 3 Elemente aus Joannes Arrangement aus und
verwende sie auf deiner Karte.
Ich habe mich für die Farben (lila und grün), ein Band und
Blumen entschieden.
Dafür habe ich endlich mal die Action-Stanze verwendet, die
schon viel zu lange ungenutzt bei mir herumliegt. Zum Glück habe ich Maris Kanal entdeckt, die supertolle Ideen für allerlei Produkte hat … und mir dabei
oft Techniken etc. zeigt, auf die ich gar nicht gekommen wäre.

On Monday was the holiday of Eid and the Daring Cardmakers
have the matching challenge for you.
Shabneez wants you to create a card with the word „Celebrate!“ on it.
Fortunately I have a „celebrate“stamp and it was perfect on
my handmade background. I used my alcohol inks for the first time and was quite
happy with the result.
