It’s not Friday ;-) … but here’s the current Daring Cardmakers’ challenge.

It's me, Kathy here this week, and as here in the Northern Hemisphere the holiday season is getting into full swing I thought we'd celebrate that 

with a travel-themed challenge

On Your Travels

You can take the theme wherever you like - modes of travel. suitcases, places you love, or would love to travel to - its up to you.  So whether you're heading off on a jaunt, day-dreaming about distant shores, or travelling no further than a deckchair in your garden, we'd love you to join in and share your journey with us.

My life is still very chaotic and superbusy at the moment. But I got a crafty magazine for free last week and used the colour-in postcards that came with it for my card (very easy and quick).

I coloured the pineapple on the beach and added some glossy accents and glitter for some extra holiday feeling. (and I took the photos in my sunny little herb garden J).

Es ist nicht Freitag, aber hier ist die aktuelle Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers.

Es geht um das Reisen und alles, was euch zu diesem Thema einfällt: Koffer, Länder/Städte, die ihr gerne bereisen möchtet, oder eine Reise nach Balkonien…

Bei mir ist immer noch so viel los, dass ich nicht/kaum zum Basteln komme. Daher war ich superglücklich über die Ausmalpostkarten, die in dieser wundervollen Zeitschrift waren, die ich letzte Woche geschenkt bekommen habe… schnell angemalt, ein bisschen Glossy accents und Glitzer drüber, aufgeklebt und fertig war die Karte. (dafür reichte auch eine Halbzeit aus)

I don’t have pets (I want to be independent and be able to host friends with allergies ;-)).        
But I would pick a bunny. Definitely. Aren’t they the cutest ♥

So langsam bin ich wieder zurück im Alltag. Hat ein bisschen länger gedauert :-).

Hier kommt die neue Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers.
Nat durfte diese Woche das Thema aussuchen und möchte Haustiere sehen: mit Fell, gefiedert, mit Panzer … zeigt uns eure Tierchen.

Ich habe zwar keine Haustiere, würde mir aber sofort ein Häschen in mein Zuhause holen… aber noch genieße ich meine Unabhängigkeit und bin froh auch Freunde mit Allergien bedenkenlos zu mir einladen zu können.

DC June Elemental Inspiration

It’s the first Friday in June and the Daring Cardmakers bring you the new elemental inspiration.

Sharon picked this lovely picture. 

Use at least three elements on your card.

Here’s my card and I was inspired by the tiles, washi tape and flowers/botanical elements.

Es ist wieder der erste Freitag im Monat und die Daring Cardmakers fordern euch heraus.

Pickt euch drei Elemente aus Sharons Inspirationsbild heraus und verwendet sie auf eurer Karte.

Ich habe mich von folgenden Elementen inspirieren lassen: die Kacheln, Washi tape und Blumen bzw. Grünzeug ;-).

Neu im Juni: Faltenröckchen

Etwas Einfaches, aber Nettes für den Juni, wie ich finde. Bestimmt habt ihr alles zur Hand, was ihr dafür braucht: ein bisschen beidseitig gemustertes Papier, das deutlich länger ist als eure Karte. Meine Streifen waren jeweils 7 cm hoch (und jeweils zu kurz, so dass ich ansetzen musste). 

Hier findet ihr eine Anleitung (auf Englisch, aber bebildert) … und vielleicht denke ich das nächste Mal daran Photos WÄHREND des Entstehungsprozesses zu machen und nicht nur vom Endprodukt.

Detail: die Falten/the folds

Something simple, but effective for June, in my opinion. As always I’m quite sure you already have everything you need at home: a piece of double-sided paper that’s quite a bit longer than your card.

My paper was 7 cm high (and not long enough in both cases ;-)).
