DC Celebrating Spring

Hello crafters. It’s Friday again and Kathy picked a great topic for the Daring Cardmakers today.

Here in the Northern Hemisphere we're emerging from the Winter months and looking forward to lighter days and warmer weather. This is Easter weekend, and some of us have an extra long Public Holiday to enjoy - so what better time to be
Celebrating Spring!
I'd like you to  have some fun and celebrate all things Spring with cards featuring something that springs or bounces - 'virtual gold stars' if you can get a real moving element in there too.
Here are some ideas from the team to get you thinking

Here’s my spring card. It has no moving element, but it’s celebrating spring with all it’s flowers, colours, animals that can be seen again on walks through the countryside …

Hallo Bastlerinnen!

Happy Easter! Frohe Ostern!

... and here's a box with a "moving" element. You find the tutorial here.

DC Hand-Krafted Creations

It’s Friday and Nat from the Daring Cardmakers has a new challenge for you.

As the title suggests, this week I want you to focus on that staple item in our cardstock arsenal -
 kraft!

You can showcase it by using it as the base for your card, using kraft patterned papers, or even embellishments and die-cuts that feature kraft.

I first thought about using kraft as a focal point … but to be honest: I couldn’t find my nice kraft/PP paper  I had in mind and I needed a colourful Thankyou card asap. So here it is.

DC Speedy

I’m so happy that it’s Friday again. I really need some days off …

It’s also time for a new Daring Cardmakers' challenge. This week Dawn picked the topic for us.
A NEED FOR SPEED

The new season of F1 motor racing is due to start in the next couple of weeks and I know that my husband will be glued to the television.  I would like to see some sort of vehicle on your card.  Something that gets you from A to B with a bit of speed.  This could be a car, motorbike, bus, bicycle.  Anything with wheels or an engine.

I used my “male” SU stamp set which features this great (and fast) car.

DC March Elemental Inspiration

It's my turn to set a dare for the Daring Cardmakers and I have enough of the cold and icy winter … I think it’s finally time for spring. So for the first Friday in March I picked this picture.

Use it as an inspiration for your card and pick at least three  elements from the picture that you would like to use: for example the colours, flowers/tulips, ribbon/string, lemons/fruit, big letters, wood, dishes, furniture …

Here's my spring card.

Neu im März: Peekaboo-card

Guckloch-Karte/Peekaboo-Card

I’ve discovered so many card ideas and tutorials lately. And many of them can be done with a bit of effort but without new expensive super special tools.

I really liked Dawn Olchefske's video tutorial of a peekaboo card. After some trial and error experiences I now have metric measurements which work for the card and envelope sizes I normally use. You can find the measurements in the German part above. If you have questions about it, feel free to comment/ask.
