DC let the music play

Hello, crafters! What? It’s Friday again? Yes! And here is the Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge.

Svenja wants you to
let the music play
(and show some sheet music).

Make a card using some kind of sheet music. This may be the real thing, design paper, stamped, or even handwritten by yourselves. Any other ideas? Go ahead!

🎵  🎵  🎵    Ta-daa!   🎵  🎵  🎵

I used some leftover sheet music from my church choir. We had too many copies and I took the extras to use them as scrap paper.

I cut the flower from water colour paper and used my water colours to create an ombre look on the petals. I like the colours but the paper is a bit too heavy to layer it, I think.

Easter surprise + bookmarks

Last week I received a huge Easter surprise parcel from (some of) my pupils! After three weeks of home schooling and one week of holidays it was such a joy to unpack their self-made craft projects and read their little letters and cards.

Look at that cool pop-up card!

And the bunnies made from concrete are already part of our Easter decoration:

I guess you can tell that this class doesn’t mind crafting with me in our art lessons at all. They are so enthusiastic about every project we start … no matter if we paint, draw, craft with paper, decorate our classroom windows, weave …  I love it.

I decided to send them a letter, a bookmark and some flat things*, that fit in an envelope, to say THANK YOU!

The bookmarks are personalized for my girly girl, my huge animal fan, my future marine biologist and adventurers.

Some oft he bookmarks are decorated on the front AND the back.

A perfect way to reduce my (endless?) supply of already stamped, coloured and cut images.

At the end I stamped on the envelope and added a 3D heart with Nuvo Drops.

*sherbet and flower seeds for their garden ... and there's some left *wohooo* 😋

DC umbrella

Good morning, crafters! Here’s the new Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge.

Kathy picked the topic:
Umbrellas!

I’d like umbrellas on your cards this week – it’s the month of April showers, after all. But if you’re thinking ahead to hit summer days you can use a parasol instead!

It hasn’t rained a single drop here in April and during the Easter holidays we spent some very hot and sunny days in the shade…. But on my card I used an umbrella.

I combined my brand new mouse with an older umbrella stamp that came with the cloud dies.

The water colour paper is from Faltkarten.com and I love it! I haven’t had such great water colour background results in ages! I’ll definitely order some more soon!

… and I have to share this beautiful umbrella picture (and some more) (from our winery tour in autumn)

So… have a great weekend! Maybe with a good wine on your balcony?!

DC clean and simple with a dash of sparkle

Hello, crafters! As every Friday the Daring Cardmakers bring you a new challenge to inspire you to create a new card.

Dawn picked the topic for this week’s challenge:

Clean and Simple with a dash of Sparkle

Is the theme of this weeks challenge.  I would like to see your clean and simple projects and include lots of white space.  I also believe a card isn't finished until you add a little bling, so please also include some gems, sequins, glitter on your creations this week.

Sparkle was not my problem … but it took me some tries to create a card that’s somehow „clean and simple“ . But in the end there’s a lot of white space on my card, so I should match our challenge 😉.

Here are some sparkly details:

Neue Bastelsachen

Hier kommt mein neuster Einkauf …

Here’s my latest purchase….

After being sent home to work in my „home office“ for at least three weeks, knowing that I will be alone most of the time, my annual stamp fair being postponed, I decided to place an order.

And it was a very good decision! If every day feels the same and you’re not sure which weekday it is, at least the weekends (without friends and family) should feel special! For me that’s pancakes in the morning and then crafting … loosing all sense of time at my craft desk.

You can see my order above. Lots of white card stock (different textures and weights), water colour paper and two super cute stamp sets (one o fit with the matching dies). I love every product and you will meet the cute animals on my blog during the next few weeks (and hopefully years to come).

DC April Elemental inspiration

Good morning, crafters! It’s the first Friday in April. This means that the Daring Cardmakers have a picture inspiration for you.

Here is the lovely April moodboard that Shabneez picked:

Use at least three elements from the picture on your card.

I picked a bunny, a floral design and stripes and created a slider card.

It’s one of my favourite techniques at the moment and I got a lot better in it since this card. Here the inside panel is a bit too narrow… (I messed up with the glue tab).

But I like it anyway😄.

My super organized colleague gave me a little Eater treat on the last school day (16th March)! I think I will send her this card with something nice and flat (so that it fits into an envelope) next week.
