DC Shake it!

Hello, everybody! The last weeks were very busy and I’m sorry that I missed last week’s challenge. But now I have much more time and will definitely shedule a crafting day soon.

Here is the new Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge.

Rizwana wants to see

SHAKER CARDS!

I love making shaker cards and created a little aquarium for my cute little fish.

Maybe I put a bit too much shaker material in … but as long as it can still move, it’s okay for me.

If you’ve never tried to make a shaker cards before, there are great and easy tutorials out there. I use a piece of fun foam as the „middle layer“ by the way.

Have a great weekend and happy crafting!

DC Frida Kahlo

Hello, crafters! It’s Friday and here’s the Daring Cardmakers‘ new challenge:

Svenja picked

Frida Kahlo/Mexicana

as this week’s topic.

Reading is my favourite hobby next to crafting. Last year I read Frida Kahlo’s biography and really enjoyed getting to know her, the background of some of her works and her interessting and challenging life.

For my card I picked cacti, bold flowers and facial hair (not her signature eyebrows, though).

DC Deckchair stripes and sunny dots

Hello, crafters! This Friday the Daring Cardmakers have a very summery challenge for you.

Kathy has a simple challenge for you this week

Deckchair Stripes and Sunny Dots

I've been using small areas of spots and stripes on loads of my cards lately, especially in a simple Black and White combo, often just to mat my sentiment on, as a 'foil' for all the other colours.
So this week I'd like to see lots of spots, stripes or both on your cards, please.
Use paper, paints, inks, stencils, stamps....
Make them however you like and whatever colours or sizes you like.

I used some striped paper. Together with the beach huts and the sentiment it’s a perfect summer card in my opinion.

Have a nice and warm summer weekend!

DC July Inspirational Picture

Hello, crafty people!

Here is the new Daring Cardmakers' challenge to give you some inspiration for your next crafty session.

It’s the first Friday in July and Svenja picked this month’s picture:

Pick at least three elements and use them on your card.

I used a ticket shape, a flamingo and stars.

The middle fold is quite unusual form, but I liked decorating it.

DC Let's go 3D

Hello, crafters! Summer is finally here … and the Daring Cardmakers‘ new challenge as well.

For this week's challenge Dawn would like to see your 3D projects.

 LET'S GO 3D

Please share your gift bags, boxes and other 3D projects.

I was thinking of more ways to use my latest stamp set

… and decided to make a card in box.

The jumping animals are great for this kind of project, I think 😊.

DC Glamorous

Hi, glamorous crafters! Here’s the Daring Cardmakers‘ new challenge.

GLAMOROUS

This week's host, Ruth is looking for some
panache and pizzazz!
Get Glam and Glitzy and show us whatever
makes you feel like a movie star!

For this week’s challenge I made another swing card. And the glamorous elements are pearls and the pink/red of my favourite lip stick:

I also decorated the inside a little bit with another flower.

To be honest, I had to think a little bit to find things that make me feel glamorous … and I guess it’s not that special: my pearl earrings (which I wear most of the time) and my most glamorous lip stick (which nearly made me faint at the pay desk).

DC Wing it!

Hello, crafters! Sorry … I’m a bit late this week.

But here is the current Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge:

Wing It!

Please use anything with wings on your cards this week - insects, birds, fairies or even planes!

I wanted to try my new honeycomb embossing folder and added a bee stamp. I also have a new „happy“ stamp and wrote the „bee“ myself 😉.

To decorate the inside I stamped another sentiment and added some yellow to match it perfectly with the card front.

I’m not sure if you can see the crystal glaze on the wings here, but it looks nice in reality and I love the haptic effect as well.
