DC Oh man!

Hello, crafters! It’s Friday again 😊 and here is the new Daring Cardmakers challenge.

Kathy finds it tricky to create cards for men. Especially if they are too old fur cute childrens‘ cards. Luckily there’s a lot of inspiration on our blog.

My card was more male without the ballons … 

… so I tried again. Wow, that is indeed a tricky challenge for me!

I think the geometric background and the colours are quite good for men. I’m not too sure about the monsters though. I should make more male cards soon!

Das Problem kenne ich nur zu gut. 

Hier ist mein Versuch. Mit dem geometrischen Hintergrund und den Farben bin ich ganz zufrieden. Die Luftballons sind eigentlich schon wieder zu niedlich und ob die Monster so passen, weiß ich auch nicht … da muss ich dieses Jahr definitiv noch ein paar männlichere Karten produzieren!

I created a number card. Another one of my brothers will turn 30 this year … which makes me quite old 😉.

DC so many candles

Hello! This week it’s my turn to set the dare for all Daring Cardmakers out there …

SO MANY CANDLES!

I want to see one or more candles on your cards.

I had this idea in my mind forever – or actually since I saw it quite some time ago somewhere in the huge world wide web. You can make your own candles by rolling up paper. (And I learned that it works much better with wrapping paper than with scrapboking paper). I just added some flames cut from yellow paper and the wick with a black pen.

SO VIELE KERZEN!

Seit Ewigkeiten will ich diese tollen Kerzen aus gerolltem Papier ausprobieren. Und endlich kam die Gelegenheit. Meine nicht ganz so erstaunliche Entdeckung: Es klappt mit Geschenkpapier deutlich besser als mit dickerem Scrapbookingpapier 😊.

Und je nach verwendetem Papier, ist das auch durchaus als Männerkarte einsetzbar.

DC February elemental inspiration

It’s Friday – and February! So here is the Daring Cardmaker’s monthly inspirational picture.

We want you to pick three things from this picture and use them on your card.

I picked the denim fabric, pink yarn, a little heart and a button and created a „new home“ card.

Ich habe mich für den Jeansstoff, pinkes Garn und einen Knopf entschieden - und ein kleines Herzchen durfte auch nicht fehlen.

DC Colours

Hello, crafters! It’s finally Friday and the DaringCardmakers have a new challenge for you.

As everything outside is grey or white at the moment, we would love to see lots of colours on your cards!

I created a background with water-based markers and added a little fox. I think it makes a cute and cheerful baby card like this.

Hallo, liebe Bastlerinnen! Es ist endlich Freitag und die Daring Cardmakers haben eine neue Herausforderung für euch.

Da im Moment draußen alles grau und weiß ist, würden wir diese Woche gerne FARBE auf euren Karten sehen.

Ich habe für den knallbunten Hintergrund mit Filzstiften auf Wasserbasis und Wasser aus der Sprühflasche herumexperimentiert. Zusammen mit dem kleinen Fuchs, sieht das nach einer goldigen Babykarte aus, finde ich.

DC just stamping

Hello, crafters! It’s another Friday and here is a new Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge.

Dawn came up with a great idea – and really challenged some of our craft team members.

 Just Stamping

I would like to see just stamping on your cards this weeks.  This means no embellishments, die cuts, papers etc...

I really like stamping and I have a huge stamp collection, but it was a challenge not to add any nuvo drops etc. to the stamped image. I used masking paper over the butterfly stamp and added some great background stamps and a sentiment stamp.

Then I coloured the butterfly with water colour pencils.

I made a second card and added some more crafty details (pp, nuvo drops). But I have to say that I like both cards a lot. Maybe I should try to limit myself a bit more often …

Hallo, Bastelerinnen! Es ist Freitag und hier ist die brandneue Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers.

Diese Woche hat sich Dawn eine wirkliche Herausforderung ausgedacht und manche Mitglieder des Design Teams ganz schön ins Schwitzen gebracht 😊.

Nur Stempel!!!

Keine Musterpapiere, keine Pailetten, keine Nuvo drops, keine Stanzteile …

Zum Glück liebe ich es zu stempeln und habe auch eine ganz ordentliche Stempelsammlung. Aber es hat mich doch Überwindung gekostet nicht hier und da etwas zu ergänzen.

Daher habe ich dann auch eine zweite Karte gemacht und etwas mehr ausgeschmückt. 

Interessanterweise gefallen mir beide Karten ganz gut. Vielleicht sollte ich mich öfter mal einschränken was die verwendeten Materialien angeht …
