Going for gold

I'd like you to use just metallic gold and white to create your card. Think of all the different gold materials you could use, gold paint, gold ink, gold glitter, gold leaf, anything you can think of, so long as it's gold!

This week it was my turn to pick the topic for the Daring Cardmaker's dare.

Let’s weave!

I always liked to do paper weaving and I remember one year when I was still in kindergarten, we had an advent calendar consisting of 24 woven heart baskets filled with delicious chocolates (oh oh … that was in the very late 80s – I’m getting old =)). So I thought we'd see how we could use weaving techniques on our cards

I'd like you to do some kind of weaving for your cards this week - let's proove that weaving is still beautiful and fun, and not at all old fashioned.

Use anything you like for your weaving;  paper, washi tape, ribbon, wool - even a mixture of media - we are really looking forward to seeing where you go with our challenge this week

Diese Woche war es meine Aufgabe ein Thema für die Daring Cardmakers auszusuchen.

Ich habe mich an meine Kindergartenzeit zurück erinnert und musste daran denken, dass wir in einem Jahr einen tollen Adventskalender hatten, der aus 24 gewebten Papierherzchen bestand. So in etwa:

 

Das war in den 80ern … ich werde langsam alt =).

Da dachte ich mir, dass es schön wäre zu beweisen, dass Weben immer noch eine wunderschöne Basteltechnik ist, die zu Unrecht ein bisschen aus dem Fokus gerückt ist.

Macht mit und webt diese Woche! Probiert doch einmal aus welche Materialien man weben kann: Papier, Washitape, Bänder, Wolle oder oder

Diese Woche hatten wir Daring Cardmakers wieder einen sehr großzügigen Sponsor. Anice von Funky Hand hat uns nicht ein, sondern zwei Pakete digitaler Papiere zur Verfügung gestellt.

Here is the new Daring Cardmakers challenge for this week.

We make loads of birthday cards, don't we?  And now the Christmas card-making is under-way too,  so before we really get swamped with Christmas crafting, this week we thought we'd focus on all

those other reasons and occasions for making and sending a card.

Thank You, Hello, Anniversary, Sympathy, Bah Mitzvah, Christening.... -  anything really, as long as it's not a Christmas or Birthday card.

I needed a quick wedding card … and in a very busy week I was able to squeeze in a bit of crafting time to make this:

Wir möchten an all die anderen Gelegenheiten denken, für die man Karten basteln kann, … alles außer Weihnachten und Geburtstage.

Dieses Jahr habe ich zum ersten Mal den „Schöne Adventszeit“ Stempel verwendet … aber die Adventskarte ist eindeutig zu weihnachtlich für unsere Herausforderung.

This is the first year that I actually used my „Schöne Adventszeit“ (beautiful advent time) stamp. But I thought that it’s too similar to Christmas cards to use it for this week’s theme.

DC November Colour Combo

Our anniversary month is sadly over, so it’s time for a new colour combination dare. 
 

I picked the colours for the November Colour Combo dare at the Daring Cardmakers.

(I just moved into a new flat and you can find these colours everywhere: a blue wall, light grey floors, a dark brown and white kitchen ...)

 

Let’s see what you’ll come up with using this versatile colour combination. 

As my design team colleagues proof it's great for birthday cards, Christmas cards and so much more.

I made a card for my dad's birthday on Sunday.

Leider ist der große Jubiläumsmonat, in dem wir den 7. Geburtstag der Daring Cardmakers gefeiert haben schon vorbei.

Der November hat begonnen und ich habe die Farben für die monatliche Farbherausforderung gewählt.

(Ich bin gerade umgezogen und möchte meine neue Wohnung in diesen Farben halten. Die Böden sind hellgrau, die Wand in meinem Arbeitszimmer ist blau und die Küche ist braun-weiß ... ach, einfach wunderschön)

Auch beim Basteln ist die Farbkombi sehr veriabel und eignet sich beispielsweise gut für Geburtstags- und Weihnachtskarten. Lasst euch von den Werken meiner Kolleginnen inspirieren und zeigt uns, was ihr mit diesen Farben zaubert.
