DC Alphabet soup

 

Hey crafters,

It’s Friday and the Daring Cardmakers want to give you some inspiration for your next crafty session.

Nat has a new challenge for you:

Alphabet Soup

I'm not sure about you, but I'm a sucker for a pretty font, and I've amassed quite a few alphabet die sets over the years. But I'm not all that great at using them! So for this week's challenge, I want you to create a sentiment using alphabet dies/stamps.

That’s definitely true for me too. I had big plans with my alphabet dies … but haven’t used them that often.

Here I used the opportunity to make two cards. One with the positive, one with the negative letters.

DC Fun and games

 

Hey crafters,

I had some really busy weeks and no time for crafting. Luckily we had our National holiday last week and I used it as a creative crafty day. And it felt awesome!

Joanne picked the topic for the Daring Cardmakers this week:

Fun and games

Be inspired by games this week! It could be an indoor game (Monopoly, Dungeons and Dragons, Twister, Kerplunk etc) or an outdoor one (hockey, football, rugby, netball…)

That was a bit tricky for me. But I found some old paper which has all kind of balls on it. (As a German who isn’t into team sports I only recognize the golf ball … but hey, it fits the bill.)

I actually own a die set to make this flip-it card and I love how it showcases your paper and that you can add several sentiments on it.

Take a break!

I guess that most of us are back to everyday life after summer. And now let's not forget to take breaks regularly. Show us on your card what "taking a break" means for you: a cup of tea/coffee, a nap, a walk in nature, taking a sun bath, crafting etc.

My school year started on Monday and I was already happy about some coffee breaks with amazing colleagues and at my desk. This weekend I try to go for a long walk as well to have a break in nature.

I made these little gifts for some of my favourite colleagues and added a rainbow pencil and an anti-stress face mask 😉.

DC billions of butterflies

 

Hello crafters,

The Daring Cardmakers have a new challenge for you.

Shabneez has lots of butterflies in her garden and wants to see

billions of butterflies

on your cards!

I picked this very colourful paper pad which gives me summery vibes. It’s a perfect fit with butterflies.

You will only see one butterfly on each card, but I think they still stand out.

Happy Friday, everybody!

I thought of using flat-backed pearls, pearl strings, pearl buttons, pearlescent paints, mousse or card, Abalone (Mother of Pearl) shell, but I'm sure you can think of more.

I love pearls! On this cards I used pearl glue to add some accents.

All taped up

Use washi tape on your card.

What a great opportunity to use some of amazing washi tapes. I created a colourful and fun background with them.

As the tapes are weather-themed I added a cloud and stamped the sentiment directly on it.

 

DC elemental inspiration

 

Hello again,

Joanne picked an old elemental inspiration picture for the Daring Cardmakers.

I was inspired by the wooden elements, deer head and the little tag. I combined the elements to make a Christmas card.
