DC in the long run

 Hey crafters!

Here’s the next crafty challenge for you. Let yourself be inspired by the Daring Cardmakers!

Joanne picked the topic: in the long run

Monday is a Bank Holiday here in the UK so that means it’s a long weekend. Use the idea of „long“ to make your card. It might be the card shape (long and thin), an image of something long (dachshund dogs! Soft drinks!), something representing a long journey or a long time (a map, a bird that migrates..), anything you can think of inspired by the idea of „long“!

Recently I’m obsessed with z-fold-cards and they are pretty long when you unfold them.

I loved using up some of these pretty and matching papers.

Have a crafty weekend that feels „long“ no matter where you live 😉!

DC cakes and candles

Hey crafters!

The Daring Cardmakers have a new challenge for you and hope that you’ll find some crafty time this summer.

Rizwana picked this week’s topic:

Cakes and candles

It’s birthday month in my family! There isn’t a week in August where it isn’t someone’s bbirthday. So there’s lots of cards to create. I would love to see your take on birthday cards with cake or candles or both.

It’s exactly the same in my family. Half of my family members‘ birthdays are in August!

Here’s a card with a cake and candles … and a little fish for dessert 😉.

DC Keep your cool

Hello, crafty people!

We’re enjoying a super hot summer here in Europe… and I just love it: spending time at/in the water, wearing breezy summer dresses, enjoying late nights on the balcony etc.

So Kathy from the Daring Cardmakers has a summer challenge for you:

Keep your cool

Let’s see some cards featuring ways to keep cool – a dip in the sea, putting your feet in a bucket of water, ice lollies, a snooze in a hammock in the shade (I wish!), sunhats and parasols

I used my new die cuts to create an underwater scene. Water is always a good idea if the temperatures rise 😊.

There are so many little die cuts included that I also decorated the inside oft he card. (It looks cute, but the card is quite heavy. Maybe I should use different cardstock next time)

DC August elemental inspiration

Hello, crafters!

August means summer holidays where I am from 😊! Yay! Finally time to catch up on some crafty projects and maybe post a bit more regularly. Let’s see… the weather is awesome and there’s so much to do, friends to meet and places to explore.

Nat from the Daring Cardmakers picked a great inspirational picture:

I was inspired by the wooden element, the „patchwork“ and some green/turquoise elements.

Have a great summer … and hopefully some creative crafting time!

DC Less is more

Hello crafters,

This week Enfys came up with a cool topic for the Daring Cardmakers:

Less is more

It is always tempting to add another embellishment, but this week we want to see cards with at least 75% of the card left totally blank – no stamped or embossed backgrounds. Lots of white space… try it, it’s amazing how effectove it can be.

I usually put a lot on my cards, but I loved leaving a lot blank. It’s really effective and I’ll try it more often.

This time I tried to make one (more) „feminine“ and one (more) „masculine“ card again. I love this concept which I saw on a blog a few years ago.

DC Cards with attitude

Hello, crafters!

As every Friday the Daring Cardmakers have a new crafty challenge for you:

Kathy wants to see cards with attitude!

She says:

Its time to break out of the rut I often find myself in and I want you to join me   .  I would love to see cards with a difference this week. The kind that surprise the recipient by being a bit different from regular flat(ish) squares and rectangles we all like to make.
For example; box cards, pop-ups, shaped cards, cards with unusual folds, cards that rock, cards with secret compartments.
Maybe look for a kind of card you've never made before and have a go at that

Unfortunately I’m very short on crafty time at the moment and I didn’t manage to try out a new kind of card/folding/technique. But I remembered that I love „endless cards“ as baby cards. So I thought I should give it a try again after a while.

I hope I’ll be able to craft a bit more during my summer holidays which will start at the end of July! Can‘t wait….

DC July Elemental picture

Hello, crafters!

Yay, it’s July! And the Daring Cardmakers have an amazing inspirational picture for you.

Dawn picked this amazing picture… which reminds me of my fabulous holidays. And I just love summer and hot temperatures 😊:

Here’s my card. I used the colours, palm trees and a floral element (leaf).

... and here are some palm trees from my holidays in June:
