DC Something Stencilled

Exciting news this week. You can win something! For the Daring Cardmakers’ dare this week Caroline from Bubbly Funk sent us some beautiful stencils to use on our cards.
And you can win some of her stencils and other crafting goodies for all the Christmas cards you probably/maybe =) still have to make.

This week we have a pre-Christmas treat for one of you - a beautiful crafty gift you could win, thanks to our lovely sponsor,

Bubbly Funk
Recently celebrating 10 whole years selling crafty stash on-line, Bubbly Funk has had a slight change of direction and is now specialising in selling stencils and the paraphernalia that goes alongside.  You'll find a huge range of stencils and masks in many different sizes, plus the inks, paints, sprays, mixed media goodies and the tools you need too.
Caroline, of Bubbly Funk has put together a special prize pack which includes
3 stencils to play with, plus chipboard mini albums and keychains,
 crystal flowers, ink and ribbon

I picked the beautiful “Mini star shower” stencil from TheCraftersWorkshop to use it on my card.
It’s great for creating backgrounds in the colour(s) you want and big enough to cover a whole cardfront.

Have a look at the blog to see what else you can do with stencils besides creating a background.

DC anything but a card

The Daring Cardmakers have a fun idea for you this week. Dawn has to create crafty products for her daughter’s Christmas fair at school.
So, here’s her challenge.
I would like to see
Anything But A Card!
This could be a gift box, a hanging decoration, scrapbook page,
an altered item etc...
Perhaps you'll make something you could sell at a School Fête or a Christmas Fair.
We may be called the Daring Cardmakers, but we don't just make cards, so check out what the Design Team came up with this week.

I love making cards. But I also like creating other things with paper, scissors and glue… for example gift boxes

I had lots of thin paper stripes that were in a "crafty paper pack" and I thought it's the perfect opportunity to try making my own paper bow.
I am not sure if I love the paper bow, but it keeps the box closed. Which is perfect =)

Also suitable for a wedding. A nice little bank note looks nicer in a box than in an envelope.

DC Cuddly Creatures

Nat picked the topic for the Daring Cardmaker's challenge.

This week I'm challenging you to feature some cuddly creatures on your cards and bonus glittery stars if you include hugs in the image or greeting.

There have been some really great stamp releases of late featuring huggable pandas, bunnies and bears, so if you have any of those in your stash waiting to be used, now's your chance!

Your cuddly creatures don't necessarily have to be your regular cute animals, they could be a bit more unusual...

I used the cute baby pattern paper that I bought at this year’s stamp fair. You can see a cute baby cow and several more little cuddly animals.
This is the welcome card for my little niece, who was born two weeks ago. And we’re all so happy that she’s finally here.

I made another card for a friend’s baby. She lives in France and has a French husband. And I’m not 100% sure if her little one is a boy or a girl … oops. (maybe she should have given a German name as a second name ;) )

DC November Elemental Inspiration

It’s already November and here comes the Daring Cardmaker’s picture inspiration.

November Elemental Inspiration

All you have to do is pick three elements (if you choose to use the colour palette it counts as one element) which inspire you and use them on your card.
Good luck and happy creating!

I was inspired by the chalkboard wall, the heart, the rows of paint pots and something hanging on the wall. Can you spot the elements on my card =)
