wie alt?/ How old?

 

The first thing  that came to my mind when I read the theme „going geek“ at the Daring Cardmakers was Dr. Sheldon Cooper and, of course, BAZINGA.

Here’s a card I made for my geeky brother … just don’t know for which one yet (so I had to leave it unfinished).

Inside: Happy 2Xth birthday (I will add the right number once I decided which brother will receive it)

I think Sheldon wouldn’t agree that this is a “practical joke”, but I think it will make my brother smile!

Das Erste was mir in den Sinn kam, als ich das Thema “Going Geek” der Daring Cardmakers gesehen habe, war Dr. Sheldon Cooper und BAZINGA.

Hier ist meine Karte für meinen Bruder … ich weiß noch nicht genau für welchen … bis dahin bleibt die Karte unvollendet.

Innenteil: Alles Gute zum 2X. Geburtstag (sobald ich weiß, wer die Karte bekommt, füge ich die richtige Zahl hinzu =))

Ich glaube nicht, dass Sheldon diesen lahmen Scherz mit einem BAZINGA quittieren würde, aber meinen Brüder bringt es sicher zum Grinsen.

BaLiSa: Q wie quadratisch

Ich habe ein Kärtchen für die Herausforderung bei BaLiSa gebastelt. Das Thema lautet "Q wie quadratisch" und ich habe endlich mal wieder meinen geliebten Quadratstanzer herausgekramt.

DC: Fussy Cuts!

I recently bought this lovely wrapping paper and cut out some butterflies to use them on cards for the Daring Cardmakers' “fussy cuts” challenge.

Ich habe neulich dieses  Geschenkpapier gekauft und habe einige Schmetterlinge ausgeschnitten, um damit Karten für die Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers „Fussy cuts“ zu basteln.

DC: The Sportsman

Yeah! I had time to craft this weekend … and here I present the card for my favourite challenge. The Daring Cardmakers challenge us to make male cards using something sport related.

Juhuuu! Ich hatte am Wochenende etwas Zeit zum Basteln …. Und konnte mal wieder an meiner Lieblingsherausforderung teilnehmen. Bei den Daring Cardmakers geht es diese Woche um Männerkarten, die etwas mit Sport zu tun haben.

The men in my family support two different football teams (!!!), but luckily they both have the same team colours: blue and white. So I started with a really cool background and ruined the card with this strange banner:

Die Männer in meiner Familie unterstützen zwei Fußballteams (TSG Hoffenheim und den KSC), aber zum Glück haben die Teams die selben Farben. Also habe ich begonnen diesen wunderschönen blau-weißen Hintergrund zu kleben und habe mit diesem hässlichen Banner die ganze Karte zerstört:

 

I found these transparent sentiments and started again … this time using my brothers’ favourite colours and covered the “o” with a  football:

Ich habe dann diese Sprüche auf Transparentpapier gefunden und noch einmal von vorne begonnen. Dieses Mal habe ich die Lieblingsfarben von einem Bruder genommen und das „o“ auf dem Spruch mit einem Fußball überklebt:

And because I liked the design I made one more for another brother (I got four  football–crazy brothers). This time without a football:

Und weil ich mit dem Resultat zufrieden war, habe ich einfach noch eine ähnliche Karte gemacht (ich habe schließlich vier fußballverrückte Brüder). Dieses Mal aber ohne Fußball:

DC: tag, you're it

This week it's all about tags at the Daring cardmakers' challenge page. I needed some male birthday cards and thought these tags would make nice “neutral” decorative elements on the cards. I’m not so sure about the hearts though … are they too much for a male card?

Diese Woche geht es bei den Daring Cardmakers um Tags/Anhänger. Ich habe unbedingt noch ein paar männliche Geburtstagskarten gebraucht. Da machen sich diese Anhänger immer wunderbar als "neutrale" Dekoelemente. Ich bin mir nur nicht so sicher, ob die Herzchen für Männerkarten nicht doch etwas zu viel sind?
