Daring Cardmakers: Here comes the sun!

This weeks dare at the Daring Cardmakers is to create a card that fits the title of the Beatles song:

Here comes the sun!

Lets see some cards full of reds and oranges and yellows - or with lots of circles on them - or rays - anything that says sunshine to you!

It's the perfect idea for the weather here ... the sunshine is back and spring is just around the corner. How exciting and very motivating to be active and do things - like writing my disseration or (preferably) crafting =)

Die Aufgabe bei den Daring Cardmakers steht unter dem Motto: Here comes the sun! Die Damen wollen Karten mit den Farben rot, gelb oder orange und Kreise oder Strahlen, die etwas nach SONNE aussehen, sehen.
Das passt ja perfekt zum Wetter (naja, abgesehen von heute =)). Der Frühling steht schon vor der Tür und ich freue mich riesig. Bei Sonnenschein bin ich gleich viel aktiver und energiegeladener ... egal, ob es darum geht meine Zulassungsarbeit zu schreiben oder ein paar Kärtchen zu basteln.

This card is for my cousine's birthday. There's not that much yellow and orange on it - but it's clearly a brightly shining sun behind the owl =).
I was inspired by the design of a stamp (that I can't afford at the moment =))

Diese Karte ist für meine Cousine zum Geburtstag. Ich habe nicht allzu viel orange und gelb verwendet, aber man erkennt, dass hinter der Eule die Sonne scheint, oder? =)

This is the birthdaycard for my flatmate. There's a lot of orange and yellow on the card - but no circles.
I saw a similar card somewhere on the net but forgot to write down the link. Sorry.

Hier noch die Geburtstagskarte für meine Mitbewohnerin. Jede Menge gelb und orange, aber nichts sonnenähnliches.

I needed a card for my aunt's birthday ... and I had no idea what to do. So I'm really excited that I found the Friday Sketchers challenge blog. And here's what I came up with:

Ich habe noch eine Geburtstagskarte für meine Tante gebraucht und war ein bisschen ratlos, was ich basteln soll. Zum Glück bin ich im Internet über den Sketch von Friday Sketchers gestolpert. Hier ist das Ergebnis:

I took part at the weekly challenge at Daring Cardmakers again. I just love their ideas ... and I'm not too keen on sketches (which you can find on so many challenge blogs).
This weeks task was to use Feburary's Birthstone; Amethyst. The stone is purple - and because it's my favourite colour I couldn't stop crafting =).
As a special treat there is even a lovely prize which can be won this week. Brenda and David from Craft Obsessions kindly donated it and of course I would love to win it!!!



Ich habe diese Woche wieder bei den Daring Cardmakers mitgemacht. Ich finde die Ideen dort immer super und sehr inspirierend. Die Aufgabe für diese Woche war es den Februargeburtststein Amethyst zu verwenden. Da der Stein lila ist und das meine Lieblingsfarbe ist, konnte ich gar nicht mehr aufhören zu basteln =). Seht selbst:

Eigentlich habe ich auch letzte Woche eine Karte für die Daring Cardmakers Herausforderung gemacht: What's the point? ... war aber mit dem Veröffentlichen leider etwas spät dran. Da ist sie:

Die Farbkombi und das Papier hat mir dann so gut gefallen, dass es gleich für die nächste Karte herhalten musste.

I liked the colour combination and the papers so much that I had to use them on the next card as well.

So, im neuen Jahr (das auch schon wieder einen Monat alt ist) komme ich hoffentlich regelmäßiger zum Basteln und Bloggen =)

Auf der Daring Cardmakers Seite ist das Bastelmotto dieser Woche: School days. Da musste ich erst einmal überlegen, was ich dazu basteln soll. Eine echte Herausforderung! - und dann ist mir eingefallen, dass mein Bruder demnächste seine Schulabschlussprüfungen hat. Hier ist eine kleine Karte für ihn.
Der Gruß steht übrigens auf einer "Schiefertafel", an der Schwamm und Lappen hängen. Erkennt man das ?


This week at the Daring Cardmakers page all crafters are challenged to create cards which fit the topic: school days.
This was a real challenge for me at first =) ... until I remembered that my brother will graduate fom Highschool in a few months. So I already made him a little "good luck with your exams"-card.
The sentiment is supposed to be chalk on a slate with a sponge and cloth. I'm not sure if it's really recognizable ...

Diese Woche geht es bei Daring Cardmakers darum den Rand einer Karte zu gestalten. Hier ist mein Versuch =)

Den Alienstempel hatte ich schon viel zu lange in meiner Schublade!

This week the Daring Cardmakers team wants us to make a card with a nice border. Here's my try =)

On The Edge
We'd love to see you making use of all sorts of border treatments; scallops, trims, pleats, or anything else which makes the edges of your papers and cards look special. You could use Border Punches, Die Cutters, Lace, Fancy Trims and that's just for starters - let your imagination live right on the edge this week - or maybe even go right over the edge! Here's what the DT have made this week to start you thinking
