DC fashion week

Leo picked this week’s dare for the Daring Cardmakers.

This week London Fashion week kicks off and last week we had New York Fashion week, (piccys above are from New York, loving the socks and sandals, that's defo the look I'm rocking this week in the lovely UK crazy transitional hot then cold weather!) so inspired by all the fashion fun for the challenge this week I'd like you to create a card that features a whole outfit. It could be a stamp you want to use or have a go at making your own outfit from patterned papers or just incorporating a cool image from the web or magazine you like.

I stamped an image and used the paper-piecing technique to turn the dress into an autumnal dress (and I heard that patterns from the 70s are very trendy now … I haven’t been around in the 70s, but the paper looks quite retro to me).

Da letzte Woche die fashion week in New York war und diese Woche die fashion week in London startet, möchten wir auf euren Karten ein komplettes Outfit sehen. Es kann ein gestempeltes Motiv sein oder ein Origami-Kleid etc. 

Schaut doch mal, was die anderen aus der Herausforderung gemacht haben.

back to school

The new school year started on Monday … and I’m (nearly) back in my everyday routine and I’m with my lovely students and colleagues again.

Am Montag hat die Schule angefangen … und ich bin schon wieder beinahe zurück in meiner Alltagsroutine und wieder mit meinen zauberhaften Schülern und Kollegen zusammen.

DC Wonderful Watercolours

Sharon hosts this week’s challenge at the Daring Cardmakers.

This week, I'd like to see a watercolour style to your cards.  It doesn't have to be watercolour paints, you can create the effect with anything you like - papers with a watercolour style, distress inks, watercolour markers, Twinkling H2O's, Gelato's, etc.  The list is endless!

I like my water colours a lot, but I’m not great at creating water colour backgrounds. So I coloured a stamped image instead.

Es müssen keine „richtigen“ Wasser- bzw. Aquarellfarben sein, sondern irgendwelche Farben, die mit Wasser vermischt bzw. gestreckt werden können.

Leider klappt es bei mir mit den Hintergründen nie so, wie ich mir das vorstelle. Daher habe ich ein gestempeltes Motiv ausgemalt.

DC September Elemental Inspiration Challenge

Beckie picked a very Autumnal Element Inspirational Dare for the Daring Cardmakers this week.

We would like you to pick out a minimum of three elements from the picture to design your card with.

It could be the stars, the leaves, pumpkins, texture from the socks or simply the colour.  This mood board is to help get your creativity flowing.

I was inspired by the leaves, the wood and the splash of orange colour.

DC feeling fruity

 The Daring Cardmakers have a fantastic fruity dare.

Summer is slowly coming to an end … and a very little part of me is already looking forward to everyday life and a bit more routine.

(I’m turning 30 tomorrow – so this might be an explanation for my feelings)
